Job Summary

The Facilities Manager is responsible for overseeing the operations and maintenance of all facility systems and equipment. This role involves managing a team of maintenance staff, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and optimizing facility performance to support organizational goals. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a comprehensive understanding of facilities management, including HVAC systems, electrical and mechanical maintenance, and project management.

Duties

  • Oversee daily operations of the facility, ensuring all systems are functioning efficiently.
  • Manage maintenance schedules and implement preventive maintenance programs using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  • Supervise maintenance staff, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality work.
  • Coordinate repairs and maintenance for HVAC systems, electrical systems (high voltage and low voltage), and other mechanical equipment.
  • Develop and manage projects related to facility upgrades or improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards in all facility operations.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment repairs, and inventory management.
  • Utilize programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for system monitoring and troubleshooting.
  • Interpret schematics to diagnose issues and plan necessary repairs or upgrades.

Skills

  • Proven experience in waste management, composting, or related fields
  • Strong management skills with experience in supervising teams.
  • Proficiency in facilities management principles and practices.
  • Mechanical knowledge with a focus on industrial maintenance.
  • Experience with electrical systems, including high voltage and low voltage applications.
  • Familiarity with project management methodologies to oversee facility-related projects effectively.
  • Familiarity with environmental regulations and best practices
  • Ability to operate and maintain heavy equipment (preferred)
  • Excellent communication skills in English to interact with team members and stakeholders effectively.
  • Leadership qualities that inspire team collaboration and performance improvement.
