Summary

Penn's Grove Middle School is seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to lead the Boys Lacrosse program at the middle school level. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in lacrosse, experience coaching youth sports, and a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive team environment. This position requires effective communication skills, the ability to motivate young athletes, and a focus on player development both on and off the field.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement practice plans that enhance player skills and promote teamwork.
  • Organize and oversee all aspects of the Boys Lacrosse program, including practices, games, and team events.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive team culture that emphasizes sportsmanship, respect, and personal growth.
  • Communicate regularly with players, parents, and school administration regarding team progress, schedules, and expectations.
  • Monitor and assess player development, providing constructive feedback to help athletes improve their skills.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all players during practices and games.
  • Collaborate with other coaches and school staff to promote a cohesive athletic program.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with coaching techniques and lacrosse strategies.
  • Manage team logistics, including equipment inventory and game day preparations.
  • Uphold the values and mission of Penn's Grove Middle School through leadership and mentorship.

Requirements

  • Previous experience coaching lacrosse, preferably at the middle school or youth level.
  • Strong understanding of the game of lacrosse, including rules, strategies, and skill development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with young athletes and their families.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire players to achieve their best both individually and as a team.
  • Commitment to fostering a safe and supportive environment for all team members.
  • First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Availability for afternoon practices, evening games, and weekend tournaments.
  • A background check will be required prior to employment.
  • Passion for youth sports and a desire to contribute positively to the Penn's Grove Middle School community.
