Summary

Penn's Grove Middle School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our athletic department as an Assistant Coach for the Boys Lacrosse team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong knowledge of the game, a passion for mentoring young athletes, and a commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive team environment. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to the development of student-athletes both on and off the field.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the head coach in planning and conducting practices, drills, and game strategies.
  • Provide instruction and feedback to athletes to enhance their skills and understanding of the game.
  • Support the head coach in managing team logistics, including game schedules and transportation arrangements.
  • Foster a positive team culture that emphasizes sportsmanship, teamwork, and respect for opponents.
  • Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school administration regarding team activities and expectations.
  • Help monitor the academic progress of student-athletes and encourage a balance between athletics and academics.
  • Assist in organizing and supervising team events, including fundraisers, community service, and team-building activities.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all athletes during practices and competitions.
  • Attend all practices, games, and meetings as required by the head coach.

Requirements

  • Previous experience playing or coaching lacrosse at the middle school, high school, or collegiate level preferred.
  • Strong understanding of lacrosse rules, strategies, and techniques.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and connect with middle school-aged students.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills.
  • Commitment to promoting a positive and inclusive team environment.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed for practices and games.
  • Background check clearance as required by school policies.
