Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Construction Supervisor to lead and coordinate construction projects from inception to completion. In this role, you will oversee daily site operations, ensure safety compliance, manage project schedules, and collaborate with various teams to deliver high-quality results on time and within budget. Your expertise in construction management software, project scheduling, and blueprint reading will drive project success and foster a culture of safety, efficiency, and excellence. This position offers an exciting opportunity to influence large-scale construction initiatives while maintaining a focus on quality control and team supervision.
Responsibilities
- Supervise construction activities on-site, ensuring adherence to project plans, schematics, and blueprints.
- Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and subcontractors to facilitate smooth workflow and timely completion.
- Monitor construction progress using Primavera P6 or other project scheduling tools; adjust schedules as needed to meet deadlines.
- Enforce safety protocols in compliance with OSHA standards; conduct regular safety inspections and training sessions.
- Manage site logistics including material deliveries, equipment usage such as ohmmeters for electrical testing, and pipeline installations.
- Oversee quality control measures to ensure work meets specifications and industry standards; perform routine inspections.
- Review contracts, change orders, and construction estimates; assist in budgeting and cost control efforts.
- Utilize construction management software like ProCore or Bluebeam for documentation, reporting, and communication across teams.
- Lead supervising efforts by mentoring team members, managing conflicts, and fostering a collaborative work environment.
- Ensure all work complies with local regulations, permits, and environmental standards; maintain detailed records of site activities.
Experience
- Proven experience in construction management with a strong background in supervising large-scale projects.
- Extensive on-site construction experience across various phases including foundation work, structural framing, piping, and electrical systems.
- Familiarity with project scheduling tools such as Primavera P6 or Primavera P3; ability to develop detailed timelines.
- Hands-on experience with construction estimating software like HeavyBid; capable of managing budgets effectively.
- Knowledge of contracts management processes including review and negotiation of contractual terms.
- Strong understanding of OSHA safety standards; demonstrated commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
- Skilled in blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and construction estimating techniques.
- Management experience supervising diverse teams; excellent leadership skills with a focus on motivating staff.
- Technical proficiency with tools such as ohmmeters for electrical testing and other diagnostic equipment used on heavy construction sites.
