Summary

The Over the Road (OTR) Truck Driver will be responsible for safely transporting and delivering our frozen products, while abiding by all traffic laws. We are looking for someone that takes pride in delivering excellent customer service. In this role, you will play a key role in helping to fulfil the J.R Simplot Company's purpose of feeding the world.

Key Responsibilities
  • Haul and handle products as assigned while maintaining efficiencies, such as fuel and best hauling and loading practices
  • Inspects truck for defects before and after trips and submits report indicating truck condition
  • Obtains schedule of load times and locations for the day and drives truck to destination applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations and skills
  • Maintains driver log according to DOT regulations
  • Regularly inspects truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, fuel, oil, and water
  • Makes truck and/or trailer available for scheduled maintenance
  • Always maintains conscientiousness for safety, while driving as well as performing all other duties
  • Full compliance with all FMCSA/DOT regulations and other Company policies and procedures as applicable
Typical Education
  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • Driving school
Key Skills & Relevant Experience
  • Must be at least 21 years of age due to travel requirements
  • Must have a commercial driver's license (Class A), with proper endorsements and a good driving record
  • Minimum of 2 years of verifiable over-the-road experience
  • Must have a current/valid DOT Medical Certification
  • Must meet DOT qualifications
  • Must accurately and timely complete Company and DOT required forms
  • Must be able to back up and maneuver in and around tight areas
  • Reefer trailer experience strongly preferred
  • Ability to use the Apple IOS Operating System.
