WSFSSH MISSION STATEMENT

JOB SUMMARY 

The Director of Clinical and Social Services reports to the Managing Directors of Clinical and Social Services.  They work closely with the Social Services Staff, in each WSFSSH building, to ensure that all WSFSSH residents receive social services that address their individual needs, which enables them to live permanently in the community, as safely and independently as possible.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Provide clinical supervision to WSFSSH Clinical Coordinators, Social Workers, and Case Managers in various WSFSSH buildings. 
  • Evaluate applicants for residential admission by reviewing the applicant's information and at times advocating for applicants that may need to be placed in an alternate setting.
  • Work with the Clinical Coordinator and/or Social Worker overseeing the case to plan resident discharges.
  • Ensure the quality and timeliness of all required resident chart documentation.
  • Ensure program compliance with all applicable contract regulations, including DHS, DOH, DMH, DOHMH and OMH requirements.
  • Provide direct social services to a small caseload as needed.
  • Participate in Special Incident Review Committee Meetings – ensuring all program and building protocols are followed.
  • Participate in Quality Assurance Meetings ensuring program protocols are followed as well as audit preparation; ensure all necessary audit findings are addressed in a timely manner
  • Work with program staff to develop budgets and monitor expenses over the course of each contract year.
  • On-call responsibilities.
  • Assist in the development, evaluation, and revision, of WSFSSH social service policies and procedures.
  • Serve as liaison between WSFSSH and contracting agencies such as DHS, DMH, DOH, DOHMH, and OMH.
  • Schedule and facilitate Social Service staff meetings intra and inter building.
  • Develop and provide staff trainings.
  • Participate in the recruitment and hiring of social service staff.
  • Identify gaps in services and develop plans to address these gaps.
  • Provide crisis intervention services as needed.
  • Work with Program Directors/Building Managers to maintain strong sense of community in each WSFSSH building by planning events and engagements as well as collecting resident feedback for future events.
  • Provide input on WSFSSH projects that are in development, including planning for the provision of social services, securing adequate budgeting for program needs, and developing systems to ensure contract compliance in each new building. 
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND CREDENTIALS 

  • MSW required; LCSW preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of social work experience working in residential or supportive housing and/or working with the elderly, people with histories of homelessness, and/or mental illness preferred.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred but not required
  • SIFI Certification preferred but not required.
