Overview:

Johns Hopkins Hospital is seeking a dedicated and skilled Advanced Practice Provider to join our Medical Progressive Care Unit. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic and collaborative environment, providing high-quality patient care in a leading academic medical center.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive patient care for acutely ill patients in the Medical Progressive Care Unit (MPCU) under the supervision of attending physicians.
  • Perform clinical assessments, develop treatment plans, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and manage acute and chronic conditions.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including physicians, nurses, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Participate in daily rounds, patient education, and discharge planning.
  • Assist with procedures as needed, including line placements and other bedside interventions.
  • Document patient encounters, treatment plans, and follow-ups in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
  • Engage in quality improvement initiatives, clinical research, and educational activities within the department.
Qualifications:
  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program or Masters or Doctorate Science in Nursing, Acute Care NP
  • Current NCCPA certification, For APRN: Acute Care NP
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure as a PA or APRN in the state of Maryland
  • BLS and ACLS certification required
  • Previous experience as an APP in critical care, intermediate care, or acute care preferred but not required
  • Strong clinical decision-making, communication, and teamwork skills

Salary Range: Minimum 53.15/hour - Maximum 82.38/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.

In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
