Air Freight Coordinator – Job Description

Position Overview:

The Air Freight Coordinator is responsible for managing and coordinating day-to-day air export and import operations. This role ensures timely and compliant movement of air shipments while maintaining strong relationships with carriers, agents, and customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate all air freight shipments from booking to final delivery.
  • Communicate with airlines, agents, and vendors to secure space and rates.
  • Prepare and review all export and import documentation (MAWB, HAWB, commercial invoices, packing lists, etc.).
  • Ensure full compliance with IATA, TSA, and CBP regulations.
  • Update shipment status and proactively communicate delays or issues to clients.
  • Work closely with internal teams (sales, accounting, warehouse) to ensure operational accuracy and client satisfaction.
  • Manage cost control, billing, and profit margin per shipment.
  • Support development of air freight product and carrier relationships.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in air freight forwarding operations.
  • Strong understanding of IATA/TSA compliance and documentation.
  • Experience using logistics software ( Magaya preferred )
  • Excellent communication and multitasking skills.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to perform under pressure.
