Senior Marine Technician

Amentum is seeking a
Senior Marine Technician
in Oahu, Hawaii to support an upcoming contract opportunity. The Senior Marine Technician will oversee the onsite operations and maintenance of a seafaring vessel on a day-to-day basis.

Primary Responsibilities

• Will supervise all preservation, cleaning, maintenance, fabrication, upgrade/expansion, and repair duties, including supervising the Amentum employees and subcontractors.
• Additional duties will include riding the vessel during all at-sea missions to lead all at-sea Company operations including performing deck and rigging tasks, cooking, cleaning, conducting rounds, standing watch, participating in firefighting operations, and performing emergency repairs.
• Responsible for supervising any additional subcontractor employees who are required while underway.

Minimum Requirements:

• Active SECRET required. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a DOD Secret clearance.
• 15 years of relevant work experience or combination of technical school plus 10 years of relevant work experience.
• At least five year of relevant work experience should be in a supervisory role responsible for a group of technicians performing relevant work. Relevant work experience should be shown in areas of at-sea vessel operations (deck, rigging and line handling tasks, cooking, cleaning, conducting rounds, standing watch, participating in firefighting operations, and performing emergency repairs), in-port operations (rigging, crane operation, forklift operation, man lift operation), and maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, upgrades, fabrication, installation, operational and testing support of hull, mechanical and electrical (HM&E) systems.
• Experience should be focused in hull and mechanical systems with some electrical. Experience in project management and planning and leading various aspects of design development.
• Training, certifications, and/or licensure in firefighting, ship damage control, crane operation, forklift operation, man lift operation, first aid, automatic external defibrillators, CPR, and food service supervisor/manager training preferred.
• Completion of US Coast Guard (USCG) Approved Basic Fire Fighting Course or Refresher within the past five (5) years (preferred) or complete within 30 days of employment.
• Completion of USCG Approved Able Bodied Seaman Course (preferred) or completion within 30 days of employment
• Completion a USCG Approved Advance Fire Fighting Course or Refresher within the last five (5) years (preferred) or completion within 30 days of employment.

Compensation:
The annual starting salary/ hourly rate for this position is between $80,000-$90,000 annually. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
