Payroll Accountant
Hopkins, MN (Hybrid Schedule)

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of payroll accounting processes to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Perform payroll reconciliations and resolve discrepancies promptly.
  • Collaborate with HR and accounting teams to maintain payroll integrity and improve workflows.
  • Prepare and process payroll-related journal entries and reports.
  • Support month-end and year-end payroll close activities.
  • Maintain documentation and ensure adherence to internal controls and regulatory standards.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor's in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Associate's acceptable with strong payroll experience).
  • 2+ year of payroll experience.
  • Understanding of general ledger and GAAP accounting.
  • Proficiency in general ledger and reconciliation.
  • Experience with payroll accounting and journal entry preparation.
  • Excel proficiency, including VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables, with the ability to handle large data sets quickly.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with UKG system is preferred.
  • Understanding of payroll integration processes.

Work Environment
The position is located near Hopkins Crossroad and requires only 2 days per week in the office, with one of those days being Wednesday when the whole team is present. The other day in the office is flexible. The work hours are flexible to better align with traffic patterns. The team comprises four members within a broader accounting group of fifteen people. The manager is approachable, easy to talk to, and flexible, having recently started with the company and aiming for the best for her team. The role offers hybrid flexibility, creating more ownership for the processes.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hopkins, MN.

Pay And Benefits
The pay range for this position is $ $43.27/hr.
