Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Service Writer to join our team. In this role, you will act as the primary point of contact for customers, facilitating communication between them and our service technicians. Your expertise in automotive services will help ensure that all customer needs are met efficiently and effectively. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Greet customers and assess their automotive service needs.
  • Accurately document customer requests and relay information to service technicians.
  • Provide estimates for services such as oil changes, tire service, brake repairs, and mechanical repairs.
  • Maintain detailed records of services performed, including auto estimating and any necessary follow-up actions.
  • Monitor the progress of vehicles in the shop and communicate updates to customers.
  • Address customer inquiries regarding services, warranties, and vehicle maintenance.
  • Ensure that all service transactions are processed smoothly, including suspending or transmitting work orders as needed.
  • Collaborate with technicians to ensure timely completion of services while maintaining high-quality standards.

Skills

  • Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in automotive services.
  • Familiarity with various service tasks including oil changes, tire services, brake repairs, shocks and struts maintenance, and diesel engine repair.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with customers and team members.
  • Ability to accurately estimate costs for various automotive services.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Proficient in using computer systems for documentation and record keeping.
