Technology Specialist

Great opportunity for recent Computer Science college graduate looking for an entry-level, IT services position in Charlotte, NC. If you have a few years of experience, we'd like to hear from you too as it's the best way to learn and be mentored.

Proactive IT is a small, top notch MSP known for providing quality IT services to our clients. To work with us you must establish roots in Charlotte and be willing to work to high standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Dispatch & Service Coordination

  • Serve as the first point of intake for client support requests.
  • Triage, prioritize, and organize tickets in Autotask PSA.
  • Communicate with clients to confirm scheduling, set expectations, and provide timely updates.
  • Assure urgent issues receive priority from the team.
  • Track SLAs and escalate tickets when necessary.

2. Sales Administration

  • Support the sales/account management team with proposals, quotes, renewals, and reporting.
  • Maintain CRM/PSA data for opportunities, agreements, and client contacts.
  • Coordinate with vendors for product pricing, licensing, and renewals.
  • Assist with marketing and follow-up activities, including email campaigns and events.

3. Entry-Level Technical Support (Quick-Fix & Centralized Services)

Work on non-customer-facing centralized services tickets, including:

  • Monitoring and resolving backup alerts.
  • Performing routine maintenance tasks (patch management, system checks).
  • Troubleshooting issues in centralized tools and services (AV, RMM, backup, etc.).
  • Resolve quick-fix tickets such as password resets, account unlocks, and simple configuration issues.
  • Document all work clearly and accurately in the PSA.
  • Assist senior technicians with project prep and routine system health checks.
  • Follow escalation processes when issues exceed scope of responsibility.

Qualifications

· Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (recent graduates and those with more experience are encouraged to apply).

· Strong organizational and multitasking skills.

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

· Familiarity with Microsoft 365 and common business applications.

· Familiarity with Windows Desktop Operating Systems (Windows 11).

· Exposure to basic troubleshooting concepts (networking, operating systems, software installs).

· Ability to quickly learn PSA/RMM tools (Autotask, ConnectWise, Kaseya, etc.).

· Prior internship, part-time role, or project experience in IT a big plus but not required.

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and climb stairs.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • May require on-site visits to clients.
  • This is a full-time position at the office; business hours are 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM.
