About Glo Tanning
Glo Tanning is a rapidly growing franchise brand revolutionizing the tanning industry with premium UV-free spray tanning services. We're in a period of meteoric growth—doubling and tripling in size—with 100+ locations and 250+ units in development across the country.
The Role
We need a Chief Marketing Officer who can scale our marketing systems and strategies to match our explosive growth. You'll lead our existing marketing team and vendor relationships while building the infrastructure that takes us from 100 locations to 300+ locations.
This is a scaling role. Our current marketing works—now we need to scale it without breaking it. You'll own brand, franchise marketing support, digital strategy, grand opening campaigns, member acquisition, and everything in between.
What You'll Do
Scale Marketing Operations:
- Take marketing systems and strategies that work for 100 locations and scale them for 300+
- Build processes and infrastructure that support rapid franchise growth
- Manage and optimize existing marketing team and vendor relationships
- Create scalable frameworks for franchise marketing support
Brand Leadership:
- Own and evolve the Glo brand as we expand nationally
- Ensure brand consistency across all franchise locations
- Enforce brand guidelines and build assets that franchisees can execute locally
- Position Glo as the premium choice in the tanning and wellness categories
Franchise Marketing Support:
- Create comprehensive marketing toolkits for franchisees (local marketing, social media, promotions)
- Support grand opening campaigns for new locations (we're opening multiple per month)
- Build ambassador programs and influencer strategies that scale
- Develop training and resources so franchisees can market effectively
Digital & Social Strategy:
- Own digital presence across all channels (social media, website, email, paid advertising)
- Create content strategies that drive member acquisition and retention
- Leverage technology and automation to scale digital efforts
Member Acquisition & Retention:
- Develop strategies to drive foot traffic and membership growth across all locations
- Create retention programs and loyalty initiatives
- Build promotional calendars and campaign frameworks
- Analyze data to optimize marketing ROI and customer lifetime value
Team Leadership:
- Lead existing marketing team to higher performance
- Manage vendor relationships and agency partners
- Build collaborative culture across marketing, operations, and franchise development
- Recruit and develop team as needed to support growth
What You'll Need
Experience:
- 8-12 years in marketing leadership roles, with 3-5 years at CMO/VP Marketing level
- Franchise, multi-unit, or multi-location marketing experience required
- Proven track record scaling marketing operations during rapid growth (2x-3x growth)
- Experience managing marketing teams and external vendors/agencies
- Consumer brand marketing experience, preferably in service or wellness industries
Marketing Expertise:
- Deep understanding of franchise marketing dynamics (corporate vs. local)
- Digital marketing and social media mastery
- Brand development and positioning
- Campaign development and execution at scale
- Marketing automation and technology platforms
- Data-driven decision making and ROI optimization
Leadership & Execution:
- Strong people leader who can elevate existing team performance
- Bias for action—comfortable moving fast in high-growth environment
- Systems thinker who can build scalable processes
- Excellent cross-functional collaborator
- Comfortable with ambiguity and rapid change
Results-Oriented:
- Track record of driving measurable business results through marketing
- Experience with marketing budgets and P&L responsibility
- Analytical mindset with ability to connect marketing to revenue
- Focus on both brand-building and performance marketing

90 Days:
- Deep understanding of current marketing operations, team, and vendor relationships
- Identified opportunities to scale existing successful programs
- Built relationships with key franchisees and internal stakeholders
- Quick wins implemented to improve efficiency or effectiveness
6 Months:
- Marketing systems and processes built to support 200+ locations
- Scalable franchise marketing toolkit and support programs launched
- Team performing at higher level with clear roles and accountability
- Grand opening playbook optimized for volume and consistency
12 Months:
- Marketing infrastructure supports 300+ locations seamlessly
- Measurable improvement in key metrics (lead gen, member acquisition, retention, franchise sales)
- Brand positioned for national expansion
- Team and vendor relationships optimized for continued growth
