Job Title: Machine Operator

Department: Fabrication & Machine Shop

Reports To: Department Supervisor

FLSA Status: Hourly – nonexempt

SUMMARY: LogistiQ is seeking a machine operator to join our team. LogistiQ, a Division of LEWCO is a fast-growing conveyor equipment supplier for customers in retail, ecommerce & distribution located in Port Clinton, Ohio. With deep roots in American ingenuity, LogistiQ has the experience of a 100-year-old company but operates much like a start-up with high energy and nimble speed.

· ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operate various types of machinery.

  • Perform and records quality checks using precision measuring instruments.

  • Develop sound recordkeeping procedures – timekeeping, closing completed jobs, posting accurate piece counts, maintaining traceability by identifying and legibly marking parts and quantities.

  • Understand & adhere to all applicable company safety regulations.

  • Notify supervision of machine malfunctions, accidents, and non-conforming parts immediately.

· SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • No direct reports.

· QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Successfully completed the pre-employment math and measurement skills test.

  • Possess personal hand tools needed to perform the job.

  • Possessing a mechanical aptitude, familiarity with shop materials, metal properties, and machining procedures is preferred.

· EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • High School or GED equivalent.

· LANGUAGE SKILLS:

  • Must have basic reading and writing skills.

· MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

  • Proficient in basic math including the ability to convert decimals to fractions and vice versa.

  • Ability to accurately read a tape measure to within 1/64".

· COMPUTER SKILLS:

  • Basic skills including how to print documents.

· PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, crouch, kneel, and reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

· WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • The work environment is an industrial metal fabrication shop with exposure to airborne dust, moving industrial machinery, and some hazards requiring PPE. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
