Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.

We are looking for a Production Operations Specialist to join the Technology team in San Antonio TX, supporting Telemundo 60 KVDA. As a Production Operations Specialist, you will be primarily responsible for preparing and executing the operation of the automated production control system (APC) for live and recorded television broadcasts. Job Responsibilities:

• Operate control room systems and automation, using templates to streamline technical directing, audio mixing, robotics, live/remote segment cut-ins, video playback, graphics insertion, and switching.
• Edit stories and clips to ensure high-quality, engaging content that aligns with production standards.
• Give direction and timing to talent and other technicians during broadcasts and studio productions.
• Develop and maintain system documentation for operational and troubleshooting purposes.
• Perform quality control of incoming and outgoing video/audio feeds.
• Push finalized media to on-air playback systems and confirm correct operation.
• Monitor and manage media storage capacity, perform regular maintenance, and purge outdated files
• Performs other control room and studio related duties as assigned.
• Required onsite. This position is required to be performed full time onsite from an NBCUniversal designated work site.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of experience working in video production or local news, preferably TD/Directing experience with Ross Overdrive Production Automation or a similar system.
• Experience with production switcher operations, manual and automated video and graphics play out, and audio board operations.
• Must have strong oral/written communication skills, solid interpersonal skills, be able to work in a team, and be able to work accurately under pressure and deadlines.
• Must demonstrate the ability to remain calm under pressure and think critically.
• Strong Computer Skills: Minimum 3 years of experience with computer applications working and monitoring multiple screens and software applications simultaneously in a broadcast environment.
• Good troubleshooting judgment.
• Video editing skills.
