BHW Capital is looking for a highly motivated Investment
Associate to work as part of BHW's investment team based in Houston, Texas. The Investment Associate role will be primarily responsible in the financial analysis of potential new acquisitions for future development and existing multifamily communities across Texas. Additionally, the associate will assist in capital formation for both acquisitions & development and portfolio management of owned assets. The position will work closely with BHW's principals and senior investment team in a dynamic and collaborative, small team environment.

Primary Responsibilities –

  • Underwriting and Financial Analysis for new development and acquisition opportunities, as well as portfolio assets.
  • Assess market fundamentals and feasibility of new development opportunities.
  • Prepare market analysis such as rent comparables, asset sales comparables, supply pipelines, etc..
  • Participate in market/product tours, as well as relevant conferences.
  • Prepare investor marketing materials, which include relevant analysis and research-based findings.
  • Assist in the management of equity and debt relationships.
  • Participate actively in Investment Committee Meetings and maintain a high level of interaction with all levels of management.
  • Build & manage broker and industry relationships.

Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities –

  • 2-5 years related work experience in commercial real estate finance, development capital markets, investment sales, brokerage. Prior multifamily-related experience is a plus but not required.
  • Experience with CRE database & investment tools including CoStar, Crexi, RedIQ, HelloData, PowerBI, Axiometrics, Yardi, RealPage, Resman, Placer.AI, etc..
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills required.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including ability to proactively identify and flag concerns.
  • Demonstrated track record of excellence with a highly motivated, entrepreneurial, and intellectually curious mindset.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate cross functionally.
  • Great team player with good judgment and effective written and verbal communications skills; interacts well with teammates and external parties at all levels.
  • Must be well organized and able to multi-task with limited supervision while adhering to deadlines and maintaining accuracy.
  • Interest in learning about real estate.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
