Job Summary

The Physical Therapy Aide plays a vital role in supporting physical therapists in providing high-quality care to patients. This position involves assisting with patient treatment sessions, maintaining a clean and organized therapy environment, and ensuring that equipment is properly sanitized and ready for use. The ideal candidate will have a passion for helping others and a strong interest in the field of physical therapy.

Duties

  • Assist physical therapists during treatment sessions by preparing patients and equipment.
  • Help patients with exercises and mobility tasks under the supervision of licensed therapists.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the therapy area, including equipment and supplies.
  • Document patient progress and report any changes or concerns to the supervising therapist.
  • Ensure all equipment is sanitized and functioning properly before each use.
  • Schedule appointments and manage patient flow within the clinic or hospital setting.
  • Provide excellent customer service to patients, answering questions and addressing concerns as needed.

Skills

  • Knowledge of anatomy and physiology to assist in patient care effectively.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology related to acute care, orthopedics, inpatient, outpatient, and hospital medicine.
  • Strong communication skills for interacting with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
  • Attention to detail in maintaining accurate documentation and ensuring safety protocols are followed.
  • Experience or knowledge in physical therapy practices is a plus but not required.
