O'Melveny has an immediate opening for a
Director of Operations
in our
Silicon Valley
office. The position is responsible for managing office operations functions and overseeing the Office Administrators firmwide.
The salary range in Silicon Valley for this role is $250,000 to $400,000 and represents the firm's good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's experience, qualifications, and location.
Responsibilities Include
- Strategically develop and implement operational policies and processes to deliver best-in-class services across all offices.
- Provide critical support for special projects and firmwide initiatives, driving successful execution and measurable outcomes.
- Be a key leader for O'Melveny's Travel Department, including oversight and management of services, ensuring seamless travel operations for high-profile matters, trials, etc.
- Direct and manage O'Melveny's outsourced service contracts – including Mail, Office Services, Duplicating, Hospitality, and Document Processing– maintaining superior and consistent services across all offices.
- Lead, design, and implement O'Melveny's Business Continuity Program, ensuring any enhancements continue to safeguard the firm operations against disruptions.
- Mentor, coach, and provide professional development opportunities to the Operations team, fostering development and enhancing performance.
- Monitor, analyze, and report on key performance indicators including budget expenditure across offices; support data-driven decision making and operational efficiency.
- Manage vendor relationships to maximize value, ensure service excellence, and support operational objectives.
- Participate in contract negotiations and RFPs to secure favorable terms.
- Research, recommend, and implement innovative technology solutions to streamline operational workflows, enhance productivity, and improve overall efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's' degree required.
- Minimum of 5 years' progressive experience in operations management, ideally within a law firm or professional services environment.
- Demonstrated strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the aptitude to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
- In-depth knowledge of legal industry standards, practices, and operational requirements.
- Proficiency in project management tools and software.
- Proven experience in strategic planning and project management.
