Responsibilities

  • Greet patients warmly and assist with check-in procedures, including collecting vital signs and medical histories.
  • Prepare patients for examinations by documenting symptoms, updating medical records, and ensuring all necessary paperwork is complete.
  • Assist healthcare providers during examinations and procedures, including dermatology treatments, X-ray imaging, or minor surgical interventions in the clinic or hospital setting.
  • Administer medications and injections following proper protocols and physician instructions.
  • Operate medical equipment such as EHR (Electronic Health Record) systems, X-ray machines, and other diagnostic tools with precision and care.
  • Maintain accurate records of patient interactions, treatment plans, medication administration, and procedural notes in compliance with healthcare regulations.
  • Assist with laboratory procedures or specimen collection when necessary.
  • Support administrative tasks such as appointment scheduling, insurance verification, and managing patient flow to optimize clinic operations.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Medical Assistant in outpatient clinics or hospital environments; experience in dermatology, emergency medicine, or hospital medicine is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, ICD coding standards, and medication administration protocols.
  • Familiarity with EHR systems and proficiency in documenting clinical encounters accurately.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required; additional certifications related to emergency medicine or trauma center experience are a plus.
  • Prior hospital experience at Level I or Level II trauma centers is advantageous; experience working within OR settings or Geriatrics is preferred.
  • Ability to perform clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, assisting with X-ray procedures, and supporting inpatient or outpatient care workflows efficiently.
  • Excellent patient service skills with a compassionate approach to diverse populations across age groups including pediatrics (PICU), adults, and geriatrics.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail in documentation and procedural support.
