Job Summary
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated caregivers to provide essential support to individuals in various settings, including assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and private homes. The ideal candidate will have a passion for helping others and a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for those in their care. Responsibilities include assisting with daily living activities, monitoring patient health, and ensuring a safe and comfortable environment.
Duties
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation
- Provide personal care and support to individuals with diverse needs, including those with developmental disabilities, Alzheimer's disease, dementia, and autism
- Monitor vital signs and report any changes in health status to appropriate personnel
- Implement care plans as directed by healthcare professionals
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of the living space for optimal comfort and safety
- Administer medications as prescribed and maintain accurate records of patient care
- Engage clients in social activities to promote mental and emotional well-being
- Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the quality of life for residents
- Assist with heavy lifting using equipment such as Hoyer lifts when necessary
Skills
- Proficient in first aid and CPR techniques
- Experience in group home settings or assisted living environments
- Strong patient observation skills to detect changes in health or behavior
- Ability to perform cleaning tasks effectively while maintaining a hygienic environment
- Knowledge of home & community care practices and principles
- Familiarity with caregiving for individuals with disabilities or chronic illnesses
- Experience in memory care settings is preferred
- Understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with patients, families, and healthcare teams
- Ability to work collaboratively with other caregivers and healthcare professionals
