Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Maintenance Technician III to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on building infrastructure and equipment to ensure optimal functionality and safety. You will play a key part in troubleshooting issues, conducting preventive maintenance, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. This position also involves maintaining accurate documentation, responding to maintenance requests, and supporting the development and implementation of facility management strategies.
Responsibilities
- Conduct regular inspections of building systems and equipment to identify and address issues.
- Perform preventative maintenance on building infrastructure systems, including HVAC, air compressors, air dryers, fire alarms, sprinkler systems, electrical systems, plumbing, and more.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues, conduct preventive maintenance, and repair minor faults to minimize downtime.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests, including tasks such as replacing light bulbs, plumbing repairs, wall repairs, and other manufacturing or facility-related duties.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment documentation, and service requests.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and company protocols.
- Collaborate with team members and departments to ensure efficient facility operations.
- Assist with equipment moves, ensuring proper disconnection and reconnection of infrastructure systems such as air, water, GN2, and electrical.
- Procure maintenance supplies and equipment as needed to support operations.
- Support the development and implementation of facility management plans and strategies.
- Obtain and maintain necessary security clearance for work in SCIF environments.
- Need to be able to move between multiply facilities within the North and South Denver Colorado Sierra Space campuses.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Typically, 4+ years of related experience.
- Experience in equipment maintenance, with a focus on diagnosing and repairing complex equipment.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Trade school degree in HVAC, Electrical or Electro-mechanical + 2 years' experience.
- Proficiency with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS). Electronic work order system.
- Basic working knowledge of Microsoft business applications.
- Familiarity with troubleshooting and basic repair techniques to find root causes to the breakdowns or failures.
- Certification in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or mechanical systems.
- Experience with Building Automation systems.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA and building codes.
- Must possess reliable transportation and the ability to travel between multiple facilities as needed to support operational requirements.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical to ensure compliance with safety and health standards for job-related travel and operational duties.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to work first shift hours to support standard daytime operational needs.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in industrial mechanic work within a manufacturing facility environment with a strong understanding of industrial maintenance practices.
- Extensive electrical experience including troubleshooting low voltage and high voltage systems; familiarity with industrial electrician standards is essential.
- Skilled in the use of precision measuring instruments such as ammeters and ohmmeters for electrical analysis.
- Hands-on experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), schematics interpretation, hydraulic systems, welding (including welding), HVAC/R systems, and mechanical repairs.
- Ability to read complex schematics and technical manuals accurately; familiarity with CMMS software is preferred.
- Knowledge of safety standards related to high voltage work, field service operations, and manufacturing environments.
- Strong analysis skills for diagnosing system failures quickly and effectively.
- Excellent customer service skills when interacting with internal teams or external vendors during repairs or technical support activities.
- Valid certifications in welding techniques relevant to the facility's requirements; military background or experience is considered a plus for discipline-driven roles.
- Ability to operate lifts such as scissor lifts safely; valid certification preferred.

Physical/Mental/Emotional Requirements:
- Frequently walk, sit, stand, climb stairs and steps
- Frequently repeat same hand, arm, and finger motion many times to include finger and hand dexterity
- Frequently requires vision abilities to include close, distance, depth perception, and telling the difference between colors.
- Frequently requires hearing abilities to include discerning different tones and volumes
- Frequently lifting or carrying up to 50 lbs.
Working Conditions:
- Frequently exposed to outdoor elements (high/low temperatures, sun, rain/snow, etc.)
- Frequently exposed to fumes or hazardous chemicals/materials
- Frequently exposed to loud noises
IMPORTANT NOTICE:
This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance. U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance for employment. Non-U.S. citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance. The Department of Defense Consolidated Adjudications Facility (DoD CAF), a federal government agency, handles the adjudicative aspects of the security clearance eligibility process for industry applicants. Adjudicative factors which affect the outcome of the eligibility determination include, but are not limited to, allegiance to the U.S., foreign influence, foreign preference, criminal conduct, security violations and illegal drug use.
