Reports to Quality Manager
Job Description
The Quality Technician Trainee will learn and assist with ensuring that products received and manufactured meet company and customer quality standards. This is a hands-on training role ideal for someone with strong computer skills, attention to detail, and an interest in developing a career in quality assurance and manufacturing processes.
Essential Functions
- Learn to perform receiving, in-process, and final inspections on materials and finished products.
- Assist with first-piece approvals prior to production start-up.
- Participate in dock audits and other quality checks as assigned.
- Learn to review control charts and inspection data to ensure product quality remains within control limits.
- Help identify and document non-conforming materials and support corrective action efforts.
- Support quality documentation, recordkeeping, and data entry within Epicor (training provided).
- Assist with new product qualifications and verification that customer requirements are met.
- Maintain quality files and records in an organized manner.
- Perform other duties as instructed by the Quality Manager.
Additional Responsibilities
- Participate in training related to process capability studies, AQP, and continuous improvement.
- Support the Quality team in developing cause and corrective actions for customers, suppliers, or internal rejections.
- Attend team meetings and contribute ideas for improving quality and efficiency.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; some technical or college coursework preferred.
- Must be comfortable using computers and learning new software systems (Epicor training provided).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Basic math skills and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Reliable, self-motivated, and willing to learn.
- Ability to read small print and distinguish colors accurately
