1.0 POSITION SUMMARY

The purpose of the shop technician is to cut, edge-band and assemble cabinets projects.

2.0 REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

2.1. The shop technician reports to the Operational Manager.

2.2. Work along with the designer technician

3.0 REQUIREMENTS

3.1. Experience

3.1.1. Required: 1 to 2 years in the industry

3.2. Skill, Knowledge and Abilities

3.3.1 Knowledge and optimal use of proper cutting and edge banding equipment

3.3.2 The ability to meet deadlines

3.3.3 Teamwork

3.3.4 Skilled forklift driver

4.0 ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

5.1 Properly cut materials presented by the operational manager

5.2 Properly edge band materials presented by the operational manager

5.3 Properly assemble finished product in customer's place

5.0 DUTIES AND TASKS

5.1. Follows direction from Operational Manager.

5.2. Load and prepare materials for cutting.

5.3. Load and prepare materials for edge band

5.4. Load and prepare materials to feed the machines (CNC and edge bander)

5.5. Assemble, load and prepare the finished materials for delivery

5.6. Do installation of materials in designated place.

5.7. Makes proper use of tools and machines

5.8. Perform any other duties in the best interest of the company

6.0 MEASUREMENTS OF PERFORMANCE

The Shop Technician of the company shall be deemed to be performing his/her functions at an acceptable level when the following has occurred

6.1. The numbers of processed panels per week established by management team are met

6.2. The number of rework is zero

Cabinet Installer Job Description

1.0 POSITION SUMMARY

The purpose of the cabinet installer is to remove any existing cabinetry, measure each installation area, prepare the surfaces, and install cabinets according to specifications.

2.0 REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

2.1. The cabinet installer reports to the Operational Manager.

2.2. Works along with the shop technician.

3.0 REQUIREMENTS

3.1. Experience

3.1.1. Required: 1 to 2 years in the industry

3.1.2. Understanding of necessary mathematics

3.1.3. Knowledge of materials and processing

3.1.4. Applicable engineering and design skills

3.1.5. Attention to detail

3.2. Skill, Knowledge and Abilities

3.3.1 Experience with hand tools

3.3.2 Valid driver's license and clean driving record

3.3.3 Prior cabinet making or installation experience preferred

3.3.4 Ability to read blueprints or technical drawings

3.3.5 Physical strength and stamina

3.3.6 The ability to meet deadlines

3.3.7 Teamwork

4 Job Responsibilities

4.3 Construct and assemble cabinet components, making sure that all pieces fit the dimensions specified by the foreman and client

4.4 Verify and double check all calculations to ensure alignment of doors, hinges and side panels, always using blueprints or design plans for reference

4.5 Clean and repair all equipment necessary for your work, including handsaws, table saws, skill saws, and a variety of drills and sanding tools

4.6 Be exact in measurements and markings so that materials will be used efficiently, and the projects will meet budgetary restrictions

4.7 Install the appropriate hardware, such as hinges and handles, and order replacement materials when needed

4.8 Match materials and grains to create a uniform appearance for all the matching units

4.9 Reinforce joints and attachments to maximize sturdiness and durability without compromising aesthetic appeal or functionality

4.10 Maintain a safe working environment by cleaning and disposing of old materials, such as nails and screws

5 DUTIES AND TASKS

5.3 Install cabinets according to written or verbal instructions

5.4 Measure room or installation area

5.5 Cut or build cabinets to fit in each space

5.6 Follow blueprints to ensure quality of installation

5.7 Follows direction from Operational Manager.

5.8 Measure and cut the bases, pedestals, housing, shelves, doors, drawers, and tops.

5.9 Measures the wall spaces between appliances or fixtures, then measures and cuts all wood for cabinet parts.

5.10 Finish the wood. Tops must be perfectly smooth and level for the counter tops to go on properly. All visible wood must be finished uniformly to the customer's desire. Often cabinet installers wait for the counter tops to be laid before finishing the wood.

5.11 Clean up the job site after installation. The customer or the boss may decide to look in on the job's progress at any time.

5.12 Makes proper use of tools and machines

5.13 Perform any other duties in the best interest of the company
