Summary
The Assistant Site Coordinator works with the After School Program Site Coordinator to administratively support the after school program, and to provide academic, enrichment, and physical recreation programs to students attending EduCare's After School Programs. The Assistant Site Coordinator mentors students and ensures a safe, caring after-school program environment for all students that encourages creativity, expression, and social emotional learning (SEL). The Assistant Site Coordinator role is a twenty-five (25) hour position that is divided into fifteen (15) hours spent on site administrative / compliance responsibilities and ten (10) hours spent on leading programs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
Administrative / Compliance
- Performs daily attendance responsibilities: Follows EduCare Foundation's (EduCare's) daily compliance procedures with regard to collecting,reviewing and approving program attendance sheets.
- Inputs attendance into EduCare' s attendance tracking systems within 48 hours of the program.
- Follows EduCare's daily compliance procedures for taking and submitting attendance .
- Follows EduCare's compliance procedures for tracking and maintaining EduCare's After School RegistrationForms.
- Effectively and professionally communicates with the students, Site Staff, school administration and staff,parents and families, external after school observers, school district personnel and other EduCare staff departments.
- Actively recruits students to participate in after school programs, events and field trips in order to supportthe site's attendance goals.
- Organizes, facilitates, and participates in after school program events and field trips. Coordinates field trip documentation.
- Assists with conducting student interest surveys, as well as surveys of students, school administration and teachers, EduCare staff, and parents for the Quality Standards and Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI)feedback processes.
- Supports the administration of monthly program calendars.
- Participates in monthly program observations and emergency drills.
- Maintains accurate records and organizes all site compliance and administrative documentation.
- Follows school, district and EduCare school site safety protocols, policies and procedures.
- Adheres to grant requirements and all after school policies and procedures as outlined in the After School Program Policies and Procedures Manual.
- Attends professional development, site staff meetings, and EduCare organizational meetings.
- Performs other duties or projects as assigned.
Program Instruction
- Creates engaging and educational activities for assigned program(s).
- Documents programming and activities in activity plans.
- Actively manages assigned program(s), constantly interacts with and mentors the students attending the program(s), and encourages students to learn new things and step out of their comfort zone.
- Modifies programs and activities based on feedback from the students, and the Site Coordinator and/or other After School Program management.
- Performs daily Site Staff attendance responsibilities when leading programs:
- Follows EduCare's compliance procedures with regard to collecting and documenting students' attendance in their programs and during events or field trips.
- Instructs the students to complete the sign-in and sign-out procedures, relays the Importance of the sign-in and sign-out process. Monitors the students as they sign-in and sign-out to ensure the procedures are being followed.
- Submits completed and signed attendance sheets daily to the After School Program office.

- Education: Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university is preferred, or at minimum either an Associates Degree from a recognized college or university, or completed twelve (12) semester units from a recognized college or university.
- Experience: Two (2) years' experience working in youth-centered programs and/or community based organizations. Two (2) years' experience teaching, leading, and/or supporting students from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Two (2) years' administrative experience preferred.
- Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
- Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully an individual should have knowledge of database software, internet software; and Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

Other Skills and Abilities: Excellent administrative skills are required. Must have previous experience working with middle or high school students. Must be able to remain focused while working with interruptions. Must be detail oriented with excellent follow through. Some evenings and weekends may be required. Bilingual (English/ Spanish) is a plus. Must be high energy, adaptable, and flourish in a team environment.
Other Qualifications: Although the employee will be assigned to a specific school site location, if EduCare's needs change, the employee may be re-assigned to another school site location. Must be willing and able to travel to multiple locations throughout the Los Angeles area for trainings, meetings, etc. on an as needed basis. Must successfully complete the Live Scan background check prior to beginning employment. Must present proof of negative Tuberculosis skin test (Mantoux) dated within 60 days prior to the hire date before beginning employment. Must complete CPR/First Aid Certification within 90 days of employment. Completion of other required trainings (i.e., worker's compensation, training against harassment, etc.) when assigned.
