Senior Accountant

Overview

At Aircon, we're building the digital air logistics network that empowers freight forwarders to compete at scale. This role plays a critical part in delivering on that mission. Directly impacting how forwarders move faster, protect margins, and build trust with their customers.

About the RoleWe are seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented Senior Accountant who thrives in fast-paced, high-growth environments. You will manage core accounting operations, enhance financial visibility, and ensure compliance across our expanding network.

This is not just an accounting role—it's a leadership pathway. As Aircon continues to grow, you'll help design the systems and processes that define financial excellence, with a clear growth path to Controller. You'll work directly with the CFO and executive team to implement scalable accounting frameworks, support strategic initiatives, and ensure Aircon's books reflect the precision and performance our network demands.

Key ResponsibilitiesAccounting & Reporting

· Lead and execute the monthly close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial statements.

· Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.

· Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll functions to ensure accuracy and compliance.

· Maintain and reconcile balance sheet accounts, including accruals, prepaids, and fixed assets.

· Support preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for executive leadership and investors.

Process Improvement & Controls

· Develop and document accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls aligned with GAAP standards.

· Identify opportunities for automation and efficiency across accounting systems.

· Support system enhancements and integrations, ensuring a unified flow of financial data.

· Partner cross-functionally with Operations and Product teams to connect financial accuracy with network performance.

Compliance & Audit

· Coordinate annual audit and tax filings with external CPA firms.

· Ensure adherence to GAAP, tax, and other regulatory requirements.

· Maintain organized, transparent, and audit-ready financial records.

· Track financial metrics that directly influence Aircon's operational KPIs and network growth.

Skills and Experience

• 4–7 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within SaaS, logistics, or high-growth environments.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CPA-track preferred).

• Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks or similar).

• Advanced proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets; familiarity with CargoWise a plus.

• Exceptional attention to detail, analytical mindset, and ability to manage multiple priorities.

• Strong communication skills and a genuine desire to grow into a leadership role.

Required Qualifications

• 3–5 years with a proven track record of meeting | exceeding revenue | GP

• targets in selling air freight | SaaS sales | technology-based solutions

• Understanding of subscription-based revenue models and key SaaS metrics

• Proven ability to identify and assess customer needs and show quantifiable value | ROI results

• Experience in a fast-paced, high-growth SaaS environment preferred

Results and Accountability (What Good Looks Like)Financial Precision & Timeliness

• Close books accurately and within 5 business days of month-end

• Maintain 100% accuracy in reconciliations, journal entries, and balance sheet schedules

• Deliver monthly financial statements to CFO and CEO within established deadlines

• Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies proactively

Operational & Process Excellence

• Document and maintain 100% of accounting SOPs

• Reduce manual accounting processes by at least 30% through automation and integration

• Implement efficient systems to streamline AP/AR, payroll, and reporting workflows

• Ensure alignment between accounting systems and operational data across Aircon's network

Compliance & Audit Readiness

• Complete annual audit and tax filings with zero material findings

• Maintain GAAP compliance and strong internal control environment

• Perform quarterly internal reviews to validate financial accuracy and risk exposure

• Ensure all documentation and records are audit-ready at all times

Strategic Partnership & Leadership Growth

• Deliver quarterly financial analysis and recommendations to the CFO and executive team

• Develop financial forecasting frameworks that inform company OKRs and strategic planning

• Support budget creation and variance analysis to guide executive decisions

• Demonstrate readiness for Controller responsibilities within 12–18 months through ownership and initiative

Team & Collaboration

This role reports to the Chief Revenue Officer and works closely with Sales, and Operations Teams. You'll be part of a culture that values cross-functional problem solving, speed with standards, and extreme ownership.

Pay: $65, $75,000.00 per year
