Senior Research Data Coordinator

The mission of The University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center is to eliminate cancer in Texas, the nation, and the world through outstanding programs that integrate patient care, research and prevention, and through education for undergraduate and graduate students, trainees, professionals, employees and the public.
The ideal candidate is familiar with data entry and follow up with knowledge of research databases. Collaborates with faculty, fellows, residents and IT liaison, for the maintenance and upkeep of the kidney repository database. Is actively involved in the data entry into sponsor databases for assigned clinical trials. Serves as backup to other Research Data Coordinators for clinical trial data entry. Obtains informed consent of patients to minimally invasive data and specimen collection type studies. Proactively participates in protocol meetings, engages with auditors and monitors, practices timely data entry and query resolution.
KEY FUNCTIONS
1) Maintain a well-organized data repository of patients with kidney cancer. Prompt entry of clinical information, continuous data upkeep of all previous and new patients included in the database, and facilitates requests for information from faculty, fellows and residents.
2) Responsible for completion of data entry for patient's protocol visits in sponsored databases, assists with ancillary tasks such as image upload, specimen submission etc. Meets with auditors and monitors during monitoring visits and is responsible for data entry and query resolution in a timely manner. Serves as backup to other research data coordinators during their absence.
3) Facilitates contact with patients to obtain patient informed consent on minimally invasive studies.
Other Duty assigned as determined by Research Nurse Manager.
Education
Required: Bachelor's degree with major course work in one of the basic sciences.
Preferred: Prior experience with EPIC EMR, prior experience as a Research Data Coordinator, knowledge and understanding of ICH -GCP is a plus.
Experience
Required: Two years of experience as a Research data coordinator.
Preferred:Candidates with no experience but with preferred degree and a strong drive to learn, grow and succeed may be considered
