SVA is a privately owned, modern emergency hospital opening December 2025 in the heart of Roanoke, VA. We are building a team-centered, supportive, high-quality emergency service—far from the chaos of corporate medicine.

We believe Licensed Veterinary Technicians are the backbone of patient care, and we are looking for talented, compassionate LVTs who want to help build something meaningful from the ground up.

Position Overview

We are seeking a Licensed Veterinary Technician with 2 or more years of experience in emergency or critical care to join our founding ECC team. You'll work alongside experienced, supportive doctors and help shape workflows, patient care standards, and the positive, collaborative culture we are committed to building.

Responsibilities

  • Perform emergency triage and assess incoming patients
  • Place IV catheters and perform venipuncture with confidence
  • Provide critical care nursing, fluid therapy, and medication administration
  • Monitor anesthesia for emergency procedures
  • Run in-house diagnostics (labs, radiology support, point-of-care tests)
  • Communicate clearly and compassionately with clients
  • Maintain accurate and thorough medical records
  • Assist with CPR and participate in code events
  • Support team workflow and uphold a positive, drama-free environment
  • Contribute to building hospital protocols and processes as we grow

Requirements

  • Must be a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) in Virginia or eligible for licensure
  • Minimum 2 years emergency/critical care experience strongly preferred
  • Strong triage and patient assessment skills
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced ECC environment
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to lift 40+ lbs and stand for long periods
  • Positive attitude, reliability, and a desire to grow with a new hospital
  • Familiarity with Instinct EMR is a plus but not required
