Please Note: The salary range above represents this position's earning potential. The anticipated hiring range for this position will be $67,672 - $87,206, based on the candidate's qualifications and experience.

The mission of the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office is the law enforcement arm of the Judicial System. WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
The Sheriff's Office is currently recruiting for a Client Assistance Specialist (Download PDF reader) (Term position: End date 6/30/2026) to provide a range of services, information and resources to domestic violence victims. The ideal candidate demonstrates professionalism, empathy, and the ability to support individuals in crisis with sensitivity and respect. This role requires strong interpersonal and communication skills, sound judgment, and the ability to navigate complex situations involving victims of domestic violence.
The successful candidate will possess a strong understanding of trauma-informed practices, be comfortable collaborating with law enforcement and social service professionals and have a commitment to helping victims access the resources and protection they need to achieve safety and stability.
What You'll Be DoingAs a Client Assistance Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting victims of domestic violence by providing direct assistance, information, and connection to critical services. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Managing an active caseload through outreach assignments, client calls, and walk-ins to the Center.
- Conducting comprehensive needs and danger assessments to determine appropriate levels of support and intervention.
- Developing individualized and comprehensive safety plans tailored to each client's circumstances.
- Providing information on civil and criminal legal processes.
- Providing referrals to appropriate resources through partnerships maintained within the FJC network of providers.
- Collaboration with law enforcement and human services entities to provide coordinated interventions and assistance to victims.
- Maintaining accurate and confidential records, documentation, and statistical data for all casework activities.

Minimum QualificationsExperience: One (1) year of experience in human services that involved direct, substantive client contact and service delivery through direct assistance or referral. This experience must have included ability to communicate effectively across a wide range of cultures and overcome potential barriers to service. For select positions, this experience must have required knowledge of the dynamics of trauma and victimization.
Education: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree.
Equivalency: An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
