Menlo Park, California, United States Snowflake Full time

Snowflake is about empowering enterprises to achieve their full potential — and people too. With a culture that's all in on impact, innovation, and collaboration, Snowflake is the sweet spot for building big, moving fast, and taking technology — and careers — to the next level.

Given Snowflake's explosive growth, we are expanding our Corporate Development team and seeking a highly strategic, results-oriented Corporate Development Sr. Manager to define and execute the inorganic growth strategy through key M&A and strategic investment initiatives. This leader will have a defining impact on the future shape of the Data Cloud.

Reporting directly to the VP of Corporate Development, this critical role works closely with senior leadership, including the CEO and C-suite, to proactively identify, evaluate, and execute complex strategic opportunities. The scope includes transaction execution and serving as a trusted advisor on "build, partner, or buy" decisions to accelerate our product roadmap and global market penetration.

The ideal candidate is more than a dealmaker; they are a sophisticated strategic partner with deep market insight to spot disruptive trends and ensure acquisitions align with our multi-year vision. You must have a proven track record leading end-to-end M&A transactions across various deal types and possess a nuanced understanding of the rapidly evolving technology landscape, particularly within Data, Cloud infrastructure, and AI.

What You Will Be Doing (Responsibilities)

  • Strategy & Planning: Jointly lead the refinement of the M&A strategy, analyzing market trends, competitive landscapes, and disruptive business models. This includes proactive build vs. buy analysis and identifying strategic synergies.
  • Pipeline Development: Proactively source, identify, and rigorously screen targets (acquisitions, investments, and partnerships) that significantly advance Snowflake's mission. This requires leveraging data-driven insights and proprietary research to pinpoint compelling public and private companies.
  • Relationship Management: Build and maintain a robust network with VCs, investment banks, founders, and industry contacts to foster a consistent pipeline of proprietary deal flow and garner essential market intelligence.
  • Deal Execution: Lead and manage the entire M&A lifecycle, from initial outreach and business case development through term sheet negotiation, rigorous multi-stage due diligence, and final closing of global and cross-border transactions.
  • Financial Expertise: Develop and present comprehensive financial models, detailed valuation analyses, and strategic business cases to the executive leadership team, clearly articulating risks, returns, and impact.
  • Negotiation & Structuring: Lead the negotiation of intricate deal terms and definitive agreements. This requires expertise in creatively structuring win-win scenarios while aggressively protecting Snowflake's interests.

What You Bring (Requirements)

  • Experience: 10+ years of direct experience in corporate development (high-growth tech), top-tier investment banking (M&A), private equity, or venture capital, with a strong focus on Data, Cloud, and AI technology.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related quantitative field. An MBA or advanced degree (JD, CFA) is strongly preferred, underscoring deep expertise in financial and strategic management.
  • M&A Track Record: Proven, successful track record of personally leading and executing multiple end-to-end M&A transactions that materially accelerated company strategy and business outcomes.
  • Analytical Skills: Exceptional command of financial modeling, valuation techniques, and analytical skills. Ability to synthesize complex financial and market data into concise, risk-adjusted insights for go/no-go decisions is essential.
  • Leadership & Influence: Demonstrated ability to influence and lead cross-functional teams without direct authority. You must possess the executive presence required to command trust, clearly articulate complex strategic and financial concepts, and adapt communication for C-suite and board-level audiences.
  • Project Management: Excellent, rigorous project management and organizational skills. Proven ability to manage multiple complex, parallel initiatives simultaneously under tight deadlines and ambiguity inherent in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Snowflake is growing fast, and we're scaling our team to help enable and accelerate our growth. We are looking for people who share our values, challenge ordinary thinking, and push the pace of innovation while building a future for themselves and Snowflake.
