Position Summary: The Training Specialist is responsible for supporting the Training and Development Manager in coordinating, delivering, and facilitating training programs for new and existing employees. This role involves overseeing key training resources, assisting in the creation and maintenance of instructional materials, and tracking employee progress within Westmark's professional development programs. The Training Specialist will ensure that all employees have the knowledge and tools to perform effectively and uphold the company's standards.
Schedule: Average of 40 hours per Monday through Friday work week
Remote/Hybrid: Remote/Hybrid eligible
Travel Requirements: Ability and willingness to travel to Boise to facilitate department training or support employee orientation.
Key Responsibilities:
Training Coordination: Assist in organizing internal and external training programs to ensure all employees are knowledgeable about company policies, procedures, and services.
New Employee Orientation: Assist the Training and Development Manager in delivering and facilitating orientations for new hires.
Learning Management System Administration: Manage and oversee the administration of Online training, ensuring timely completion and tracking for all employees.
Program Support: Oversee daily tasks related to the Professional Development Library and manage the distribution of branding apparel for employees.
Mentor Program Facilitation: Facilitate and manage the Westmark Mentor Program to foster a supportive learning environment.
Content Development: Assist in developing, reviewing, and updating high-quality curricula, course assessments, and instructional materials—including training guides, lesson plans, and eLearning content—aligned with Westmark's processes and culture.
Product and Service Training: Support the rollout of new products and services by providing training assistance and preparing educational resources.
Classroom Setup and Maintenance: Help with setting up and cleaning the training room for sessions, ensuring an organized and professional learning environment.
Proofreading and Quality Assurance: Review and proofread all training materials for accuracy and consistency before implementation.
Training Gap Analysis: Identify skills and knowledge gaps and proactively develop training solutions to bridge these gaps.
Customized Training: Work with branch or department managers to deliver customized training when needed.

- Customer Service Orientation: Committed to supporting team members and providing excellent service.
- Financial Knowledge: Understanding of Westmark's products, services, systems, and policies, or the ability to quickly learn.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent, with a minimum of 3 years of relevant training or instructional experience within a financial institution; or
- Bachelor's degree in a related field with 2 years of relevant training experience; or
- An equivalent combination of formal education, training, and applicable experience.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, and present for extended periods during training sessions.
- Manual Dexterity and hand-eye coordination for tasks such as typing and operating office equipment.
- Sitting for extended periods of time.
- Visual and auditory abilities to understand and communicate with the public.
- Repetitive motion using wrists, hands, and fingers.
- Capacity to lift and move up to 20 pounds as needed for material setup and distribution.
- Some travel required to various locations in Southern Idaho to facilitate and deliver various training programs.
