40Position Summary
Coordinates the teacher's basic literacy and workforce training skills in Integrated Education Training (IET) programs offered at SFCC. Must be committed to serving a diverse college community. Actively participates in and contributes to continuous quality improvement.This is a TERM (Fixed-Term) position, therefore continuous employment is contingent upon project completion time, position funding and/or need.
This position will be required to work onsite in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
Duties & Responsibilities
Collaborates with Deans/Department Chairs and Adult Education (AE) staff and Instructors to develop and sustain an SFCC Integrated Education and Skills Training (I-BEST) program.
Supports departments in the process to develop entry level IET certificate programs.
May teach basic reading, writing, and workforce training skills in the context of the career training program curriculum.
Collaborates with departments and instructors in writing integrated course syllabi for classes to include basic reading, writing, and career readiness skills.
Recruits students and oversees the selection of cohorts for specific certificates, considering appropriate eligibility requirements.
Collaborates with AE and departments to select and support effective instructor teams to co-teach with at least 50% overlap.
Coordinate training and ongoing professional development in Integrated Education Training methodology for teaching teams.
Coordinate pre-planning of course integration with co-teacher pairs; supports development of Integrated Course Outlines.
Oversees collection of syllabi and course outlines for IET programs.
Advises regarding financial aid for students enrolled in IET programs.
Coordinates with AE staff to schedule academic skills instruction.
Selects and orders books, software, and materials for academic skills.
Coordinates with schools and departments to schedule credit classes, rooms, books, and materials.
Provides "Intrusive Advising" for I-BEST students from acceptance into the program through placement, including goal setting and writing an individualized learning plan, and weekly meetings.
Coordinates career readiness instruction for students at all levels.
Collaborates with the Department of Workforce Solutions and other agencies regarding career readiness training, job placement support, labor market data, and examining future certificate career areas.
Defines and measures academic skills learning outcomes for individual students; conducts progress assessments for NRS (TABE) testing and reporting into LACES. Maintains AE files for enrolled students.
Organizes HSE testing as necessary, including practice test sequence.
Coordinates attendance reporting.
Produces and distributes program outreach materials
Completes other related duties as assigned.

Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports.
Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a related field.
Three (3) years of experience related to duties.
OR
Master's degree in a related field
One(1) year of experience related to the duties
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with adult students with low academic performance levels.
Experience working with multicultural populations.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
Sitting for extended periods of time.
Repetitive hand motions and prolonged use of computer.
May be required to lift up to 20 pounds.
Work is normally performed in a typical interior classroom/office work environment.
Work Hours:
8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
