SUMMARY OF ROLE
The Sales Manager is responsible for leading and growing the sales function in alignment with company goals and objectives. This position plays an active role in research, planning, and execution of sales strategies that drive revenue, strengthen customer relationships, and expand market presence.
As a leader, you will recruit, train, and motivate a team of sales and customer service professionals—leading by example to create a positive, high-performance culture. You will ensure all sales operations reflect the company's values of professionalism, courtesy, and tenacity while embodying the "Voice" of Mosquito Squad Plus.
In addition to leading the sales function, the Sales Manager will provide backup support to the customer service team as needed to ensure consistent service quality and responsiveness during peak periods, staff absences, or high call volume.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Sales & Customer Experience
- Promote and sell Mosquito Squad services while following the company's structured sales process.
- Demonstrate strong listening skills, empathy, and understanding of customer needs to provide tailored solutions.
- Manage inbound and outbound sales calls, converting warm leads and reactivating former customers.
- Upsell single-treatment customers to full-season or bundled service programs.
- Overcome objections and close sales efficiently while maintaining high customer satisfaction.
- Manage leads, opportunities, and follow-ups using the company's CRM (ServiceMinder).
- Answer calls and emails promptly, providing exceptional service and accurate information.
- Execute call scripts, track conversions, and maintain accountability for daily and weekly KPIs.
- Provide backup support to the customer service team as needed, including answering calls, handling service inquiries, and assisting with scheduling or follow-ups.
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, train, and coach new and existing sales and customer service team members.
- Ensure team proficiency in sales scripts, CRM usage, and company procedures.
- Monitor at least three calls per week per team member and provide documented feedback.
- Review daily commission and performance reports; ensure tasks and follow-ups are completed each day.
- Conduct monthly sales reviews and report performance data to management.
- Provide constructive coaching, recognize achievements, and escalate staffing concerns as needed.
- Audit overflow call services and provide feedback to maintain brand standards.
- Assign contact lists and hold agents accountable for productivity and KPI goals.
Sales Strategy & Growth
- Develop and implement short- and long-term sales strategies to achieve company growth targets.
- Analyze market trends, customer data, and competitive intelligence to identify new opportunities.
- Collaborate with marketing and operations to align campaigns, pricing, and customer engagement efforts.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on Mosquito Squad products, services, and value propositions.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
- Prior sales management experience required, preferably in pest control, home services, or a related industry.
- Exceptional communication, leadership, and motivational skills
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, results-based environment.
- Advanced computer proficiency (Outlook, Excel, Word, CRM platforms).
- Ability to type 45–60 WPM and prepare professional correspondence.
- Reliable transportation and punctual attendance required.
- Positive, energetic attitude with a commitment to customer service excellence.
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend written and verbal instructions, reports, and sales documentation.
- Must be adaptable, coachable, and willing to learn new programs and systems quickly.
