Sr. Project Manager II – W/WW
to join our
Lexington, KY
office.
What You'll Do:
As a Project Manager on our Water/Wastewater team, you'll take the lead in delivering projects that directly improve community infrastructure. From planning to design to construction support, you'll manage projects for both private developers and public municipalities. Your work will span water distribution and storage, booster pump stations, water treatment, wastewater collection and pump stations, and treatment facilities—all while guiding talented teams and strengthening client relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead projects from start to finish by defining scope, setting schedules and budgets, and ensuring quality control throughout the lifecycle.
- Serve as the trusted advisor to clients—acting as their primary point of contact, facilitating meetings, and providing timely project updates.
- Direct and mentor a team of engineers and technicians by assigning tasks, monitoring progress, and supporting professional development.
- Drive client satisfaction and growth by delivering successful outcomes, resolving issues, and expanding relationships with existing clients.
- Oversee technical execution by managing design deliverables, coordinating with outside agencies and subconsultants, and ensuring compliance with jurisdictional reviews.
- Strengthen PRIME AE's business development efforts by preparing proposals, leading pursuits, and building relationships in local communities.
- Support firm-wide success by tracking project performance, reporting to leadership, and managing invoicing/accounts receivable.
- Create a culture of collaboration by fostering teamwork, motivating staff, and modeling PRIME AE's values of trust, integrity, and innovation.
What You'll Bring:
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (required).
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
- 15+ years of experience as a Project Engineer in water/wastewater and/or site/land development projects; 5+ years managing project design teams strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work with municipalities and community stakeholders.
- Proven experience in business development and client relationship management.
- Technical proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, HydroCAD, AutoTurn, MS Project, Microsoft Office Suite, and Deltek.
- Exceptional communication, leadership, and delegation skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and execute effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- A collaborative mindset with a passion for mentoring and team growth.
