We are currently looking for a Manager, Operations Engineering for our Owensboro, KY or Houston, TX office.
Position Description
The Manager, Operations Engineering leads a distributed team of field-based operations engineers responsible for supporting the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of pipelines, compressor stations, measurement & regulation (M&R) facilities, and related midstream assets. This leader sets clear expectations, develops talent, and fosters a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. The Manager ensures the team provides technical oversight, fulfills engineering operational support responsibilities, and champions safety and reliability. The role is accountable for guiding the team in asset management prioritization, operational troubleshooting, and compliance with regulatory requirements. The Manager collaborates closely with Field Operations, Engineering & Construction, the rest of Asset Performance & Innovation, and other key functions to ensure alignment of priorities and coordinated support. Through proactive leadership, the Manager drives continuous improvement, innovation, and operational excellence across all supported assets and activities.
Required Skills, Knowledge, And Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or management role.
- Proven record of supporting field operations in an engineering capacity (energy, utilities, construction, telecommunications, manufacturing, or similar sectors preferred).
- Strong management skills and experience with relevant software tools.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and people skills.
- Demonstrated ability to drive process improvements and manage change.
- Knowledge of safety and quality standards.
- Ability to analyze complex technical problems and develop effective solutions.
- Experience in budgeting and resource management.
- Willingness to travel to field locations as required (up to 40% of the time).
Preferred Skills, Knowledge, And Experience
- Experience with remote or distributed field operations.
- Experience with digital transformation and automation in field support environments.
Required Education
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
