Position Overview

The
Senior Business Development Manager
at Aquila Engineering will play a critical role in expanding the company's footprint across international energy markets. This role is focused on strategic growth, partnership development, and commercial leadership with a strong emphasis on leveraging relationships within the
oil & gas industry
. The ideal candidate will combine deep sector knowledge with strong global relationship networks and must be willing to travel to advance Aquila's commercial objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Business Growth & Market Expansion

  • Develop and execute growth strategies to expand Aquila's market share in established and emerging regions.
  • Identify and pursue high-value opportunities including partnerships, joint ventures, and strategic alliances.
  • Support diversification into LNG, renewables, and digital engineering solutions aligned with Aquila's long-term vision.

Market Intelligence & Strategy

  • Analyze industry trends, energy policies, and competitor tactics to uncover new commercial opportunities.
  • Create tailored market entry strategies targeting NOCs, IOCs, EPCs, and major service companies.
  • Present market intelligence and strategic recommendations to Aquila's leadership team.
  • Client & Partner Relationship Management
  • Leverage
    existing oil & gas industry relationships
    to drive new business and accelerate growth.
  • Cultivate and manage key client accounts, government engagement, and industry partnerships.
  • Serve as Aquila's primary commercial representative on major bids and negotiations.

Commercial Leadership & Bids

  • Lead development of RFQs, RFPs, proposals, and bid submissions in coordination with engineering, legal, and finance teams.
  • Negotiate complex contracts and pricing while protecting profitability and managing risk exposure.
  • Drive revenue forecasting, pipeline development, and target achievement.

Cross-Functional Alignment

  • Collaborate with engineering, HSE, marketing, and operations teams to tailor Aquila's technical solutions to market needs.
  • Provide feedback for service innovations based on client and market insight.

Industry Representation & Global Travel

  • Travel internationally
    to industry events, client meetings, trade missions, and commercial negotiations.
  • Represent Aquila Engineering with professionalism and thought leadership at global forums.
  • Promote the brand through technical presentations, whitepapers, and executive networking.

Performance & Reporting

  • Monitor KPIs including acquisition rate, revenue growth, deal closure, and retention.
  • Deliver regular strategic reports and pipeline insights to Aquila's executive leadership.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Marketing, or a related field (MBA preferred).
  • Significant experience in business development or commercial leadership within
    oil & gas or energy engineering sectors
    .
  • Existing network and strong relationships within the energy industry
    (NOCs, IOCs, EPCs, service firms).
  • Demonstrated success securing large-scale contracts or strategic partnerships.
  • Excellent negotiation skills and executive-level communication capability.
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally (30–50%)
    .
