Senior Accounts Payable Analyst

We're partnering with a well-established organization to find a detail-oriented and proactive Senior Accounts Payable Analyst to join their finance team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a high-volume environment and has a strong foundation in accounting principles, especially within accounts payable operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • High-Volume Processing:
    Manage and process a large volume of vendor invoices daily with precision and efficiency, ensuring timely and accurate entry into the financial system.
  • Data Verification:
    Review invoice data for correctness and proper account allocation to support consistent financial reporting.
  • Cash Reconciliation:
    Oversee small fund accounts, verifying all transactions align with internal records and policies.
  • Tax-Related Support:
    Assist in the preparation and maintenance of tax-related schedules and documentation in support of filings.
  • Document Management:
    Organize and maintain financial records, including transaction logs, payment confirmations, and vendor documentation.
  • Collaborative Support:
    Work closely with the broader accounting team on recurring and ad-hoc financial tasks, including reconciliations, reporting schedules, and audit preparation.
  • Vendor Relations:
    Communicate with suppliers and internal purchasing contacts to resolve billing discrepancies and ensure proper payment processing.
  • Process Improvement:
    Contribute to the refinement of AP workflows and internal control procedures, enhancing operational efficiency.
  • Professional Development:
    Stay current with changes in financial regulations and best practices through ongoing learning.
  • Team Flexibility:
    Step in to support other finance functions as needed, demonstrating a can-do attitude and cross-functional mindset.

Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience in accounts payable within a mid- to large-sized organization.
  • Solid understanding of accounting fundamentals and financial recordkeeping.
  • Familiarity with Concur and Microsoft Dynamics (Great Plains) is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, along with Outlook and Word.
  • Strong organizational skills and an eye for detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
