Job Title: Fiber Optics Drill Crew Project Manager – In-House Contractor Location: Lubbock, TX Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM Start Date: ASAP

About the Position: We are seeking an experienced and motivated Fiber Optics Drill Crew Project Manager to join our team as an in-house contractor. This position oversees all aspects of horizontal directional drilling (HDD) and fiber optic installation projects. The ideal candidate will have proven leadership skills, a strong understanding of underground utility construction, and the ability to manage multiple field crews to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality project execution.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate daily operations of fiber drilling and installation crews.
  • Manage job scheduling, crew assignments, and equipment allocation.
  • Oversee site safety, productivity, and compliance with project specifications.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, inspectors, and management teams.
  • Review project plans, permits, and utility maps for accuracy and efficiency.
  • Track project progress, complete daily documentation, and manage reporting.
  • Support, train, and motivate field teams to maintain a strong safety and performance culture.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues to keep projects on schedule.

Qualifications:

  • Experience managing HDD, fiber optic, or underground utility construction projects.
  • Strong working knowledge of directional drilling operations and equipment.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and utility markings.
  • Reliable transportation to the Lubbock, TX area.
  • Ability to pass a background check.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Pay Range: $1,500–$1,800 per week, depending on experience.
  • Plus: Production-based bonuses.
  • Benefits:
  • Employer contribution 50% toward employee benefits after 60 days of employment.
  • Paid time off during the week of Thanksgiving and the week of Christmas.
  • Full-time schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
