Solutions Consultant- B2B
Reporting to the Director of Solutions Consulting, the Solutions Consultant is a Trusted Advisor, to our prospects, our customers, our teammates, our account managers, our delivery team, and our product management team. As a member of our dynamic team, you are the heartbeat of our go-to-market strategy with responsibility for the pre-sales process. You will collaborate with the organization to create a vision of how PROS will increase our prospect's margin and revenue in an omni-channel world. As a Solutions Consultant, you will uncover a prospect's true needs and develop compelling business cases, create personalized solutions that resonate with the prospect, and demonstrate our software applications in conveying to customers how our solutions will solve their challenges.
A Day in the Life of the Solutions Consultant- About the role:
Communicator: Communication is key Presenting to our prospects and customers on the benefits of our strategic pricing solutions and how they fit into the organization's strategy is a core function. Trust is a crucial aspect of the relationship, and Solutions Consultants must be credible partners, demonstrating industry domain knowledge and "the art of the possible" using software and smart applications to increase their profits. Listening is one of the most important skills you will leverage as a team member and partner. You will be asked to quickly learn our prospects' business models and make prescriptive recommendations.
Relentless Executor: Time kills all deals. You must hustle and stay hungry to win in this business. PROS Solutions Consultants never stop moving forward and driving sales execution. You must help to lead the customer on the need to change, providing new insights into their business, driving solution demos and constructing a compelling value case to drive quantifiable revenue or margin improvements for our prospects. You will consult with our Pre-sales Engineering Team on how to execute personalized product demos for our prospects. Together, the Solutions Consultant and the Executive Account Manager will consistently move the needle in this role to achieve sales targets.
Business Strategist: Price is the most impactful lever on profitability. Optimizing that price and delivering it to the customer in a frictionless manner is the name of our game. Though leadership in pricing, CPQ, business strategy, industry, sales effectiveness, and technology platforms is a critical aspect of your role as a Solutions Consultant. Delivering the ultimate end-to-end customer experience is what we do, and you will strategize with the internal teams to make that happen.
Innovator: Change is the only constant in technology. We must continually improve, excel and innovate on all fronts: the value messaging of our solutions, our approach to business cases, and the content of our demos. You will drive thought leadership and brand awareness through speaking engagements, white papers, and articles. Imagine driving innovation by bringing market insight to internal stakeholders including product management and marketing, that's you.
Required Qualifications - About you:
We are looking for candidates who possess the combination of the following achievements, skills and behaviors:
- Pre-sales consulting or sales experience in the enterprise space for a complex software or application provider or B2B Pricing experience
- 5+ years of experience in enterprise software sales and/or software implementation
- Consulting and/or work experience in pricing, CPQ, sales operations, enterprise technology, and business strategy.
- Experience crafting business cases and value studies with clear, compelling storytelling
- Experience using or implementing software to enable pricing, analytics, sales or sales operations
- Excellent analytical skills
Highly Preferred
- AI Literacy: Demonstrates a solid understanding of core AI concepts, terminology, and practical applications. Effectively leverages AI tools to enhance productivity, insights, and decision-making, while adhering to ethical standards and best practices.
- Prompt Engineering: Skilled at crafting clear, structured, and effective prompts to optimize the quality, relevance, and utility of AI-generated outputs.
- Agentic AI: Understands the role of autonomous agents in streamlining workflows and automating end-to-end tasks. Able to build, utilize, or manage agentic AI systems and integrate them into business processes.
