Job Summary

The Volunteers / Auxiliary Coordinator assists in the recruitment, supervision, scheduling, and training of volunteers in the hospital. Provides administrative support that aligns for both departments.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Assist Junior Volunteers
  • Assist with weekly volunteer schedule and and make calls to cover for absent volunteers
  • Register volunteers for orientation and annual education sessions
  • Provide limited clerical support to spiritual care volunteers
  • Participate in volunteer recognition programs
  • Provide clerical support for volunteer/auxiliary office
  • Provides coverage to the hospitals Information Desk
  • Provides direction, information and assistance to patients, visitors, vendors and sales representatives.
  • Assist with Auxiliary events both in and out of the office
  • Provide assistance in Gift Shop when needed including assisting customer with purchases
  • Assists with planning and coordination of auxiliary board and general meetings

Other responsibilities:

  • Handle incoming calls
  • Operate office machines (computer, copy machine)
  • Must be proficient in MS Word and Excel
  • Other duties that need to be completed although not directly assigned
  • Occasional evening or weekend hours may be required.

Special Qualifications:

  • Able to walk, stand, bend and use stairs
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Ability to multi task
  • Prioritize tasks and use time management skills
  • Ability to change planned work day according to special projects as they occur
  • Ability to work with large, diverse group of volunteers

Salary Range: $ $24.76 hourly (Based on Experience)
