About the Role:

Are you someone who loves kids, creativity, and playtime—and wants a job that doesn't feel like work? The Northwest YMCA is hiring Child Watch Attendants to help bring joy and safety to our drop-in childcare service for kids ages 6 months to 12 years, while their parents are exercising in the facility.

You'll be part of a fun, supportive team that gets to do craft projects, play games, and provide a safe, caring, and engaging space for kids to thrive.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and interact with children in a positive, nurturing way
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment
  • Assist with age-appropriate play, crafts, and activities
  • Build relationships with parents and ensure their children feel welcome and safe
  • Follow all YMCA safety and behavior guidelines
  • Be a role model who reflects the YMCA's core values: Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 16 years of age
  • Must enjoy working with children and demonstrate patience, creativity, and a strong sense of responsibility
  • Complete YMCA child abuse prevention within 30 days of hire along with other required trainings
  • Ability to multitask in a dynamic environment
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain within first 30 days)
  • Experience in childcare or a related field is a plus, but not required
