This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The School Age Childcare Coordinator provides support throughout the After School and Summer Day Camp programs under guidance of the Senior Childcare Director. This role intentionally fosters a cause-centered culture that welcomes all participants in a nurturing environment through staff development & program innovation.
Position ensures compliance with all Texas Health and Human Services Commission (TXHHSC) standards, applicable laws and regulations and local and national YMCA standards. This position ensures the safety and well being of all children through staff training and evaluation, curriculum development and monitoring, parent involvement and outcome measurement evaluation surveys.
Qualifications:
Position requires a high school diploma or GED, Child Development and/or related field and extensive experience working with school age youth and child care development issues. Must meet TDFPS licensing standards for a child care center director.
Essential Functions
Ensures compliance with all applicable TXHHSC standards, laws and internal policies and procedures at all times.
Conducts quality assurance and ensures conformity with Texas Minimum Standards for Child Care Centers/Before & After School Program.
Coordinates and ensures purchase of snacks and supplies orders for program.
Ensures that program fees are collected in a timely manner, and that support staff complete all required paperwork.
Provides direct supervision of child care staff.
Submits monthly statistical data as needed.
Maintains current CPR/First Aid certification and other YMCA and licensing certifications as needed.

Utilizes non-threatening methods to address sensitive issues and inappropriate behavior or performance. Has the functional and technical knowledge and skills required to perform well; uses best practices and demonstrates up-to-date knowledge and skills in technology. Experience and proficiency using Excel, Word, and Publisher. Experience with Daxko Operations or similar system preferable.

Pay: $ $20.00 per hour
