The Technical writer is responsible for writing and revising technical documents for ICS products – Product manuals, installation instructions, product parts posters.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Writing and revising of technical documents, like product manuals, parts posters, installation instructions and quick reference guide.
  • Creation of technical diagrams and images showing product parts & bills of materials (spare parts)
  • Creation of videos or other multi-media outputs for user training, operation and/or repair
  • Project management including management of data files and updating status information for the projects including tracking of planned vs. actual schedules
  • Assists in maintenance of technical communication documents & files including posting of new & revised documents on the Nordson website
  • Requests & coordination of language translations for the technical documents

Education and Experience Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in English, Marketing or related field is required

Experience:

  • 1-3 years writing experience preferred
  • Experience in writing technical content, like product manuals, for an industrial/manufacturing company preferred
  • Experience with technical writing software, like Adobe InDesign preferred
  • 3D modeling knowledge & experience with software, like SolidWorks, preferred

Skills and Abilities

  • Excellent writing skills including reviewing and editing documents
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Technical aptitude
  • Ability to work with 3D models to create product images and exploded views for parts lists – nice to have
  • Ability to work in cross-functional team, especially with highly technical engineers, to translate information into easy to understand, more user-friendly content
