Job Title: Families First Worker

Reports To: Families First Supervisor
Supervises: N/A
Position Summary: Within the framework of the agency's mission, policies, procedures and resources, the Families First Worker is responsible for providing short term, intensive home-based services to multi problem families who are at risk for out of home placement. This position will carry an on-going case load of two families. All services will be performed in compliance with current State of Michigan Licensing Rules for Child Placing Agencies, contractual obligations, and any additional applicable accreditation standards relevant to the agency.
Requirements:
Qualifications: Preferred master's degree in social work, Psychology, or Guidance and Counseling or minimally a bachelor's degree in social work, Psychology, or Counseling. Field experience working with multi problem children and families providing home-based services; training in crisis intervention techniques, cultural/ethnic sensitivity training, demonstrated substance abuse knowledge and skills, and knowledge of family treatment strategies. Valid drivers license is required with continuous in effect auto insurance.

Major Responsibilities:
A. Provides intensive home-based services to assigned families.
- Carries case load of 2 families dedicating 10 hours per week of face-to-face contact with each family. A total of 19 families will be serviced annually.
- Completes required documentation on all case assigned and required statistical data in accordance with accreditation standards, licensing rules and contractual standards.
- Will provide back up coverage for the team.
- Provides timely delivery of services adhering to the Families First Model.
- Available 24 hours a day 7 days to meet the families needs and schedules.
- Follow up services are provided to all families as outlined in the Families First Manual.
- Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through continuous development, modeling inclusive behaviors, and proactively managing bias.
B. Professionally represents the agency with internal and external customers
- Participates in schedules agency meetings.
- Attends and participates in assigned external agency meetings.
C. Participate in required Families First training and other mandatory agency.
D. Monitors utilization of agency resources
- Works within departmental budget.
- Completes required monthly reports within required time frames.
- Effectively utilizes and explores community resources with families.
