B Technician:

Automotive B Technician Job Description

Functions as an experienced technician who can perform diagnoses and repairs of most vehicle components with little supervision required. Typically, they have previously worked as C-Class general service technicians.

Essential Duties:

Repair and Diagnosis: Performs work as outlined on repair orders with efficiency and accuracy. Diagnoses the cause of most malfunctions and executes repairs.

Parts Coordination: Communicates with the parts stores to obtain necessary replacement parts.

Safety and Service Assessment: Examines assigned vehicles to determine if further safety or service work is required. If additional work is needed, they promptly inform the store manager.

Documentation: Documents all work performed and recommended on the repair order. They also road test vehicles when required.

Training and Compliance: Participates in Jiffy Lube International sponsored training, keeps abreast of manufacturer technical bulletins, and complies with federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know).

Supervision: Supervises the work of any apprentice technicians as assigned.

Shop Maintenance: Ensures customers? cars are kept clean, maintains a neat shop area, and is accountable for all Jiffy Lube owned tools and manuals.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience: A Bachelor?s degree from a four-year college or university, or one to two years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Also, the ability to write simple correspondence.
