About the Facility
The New London Hospital Association
The New London Hospital Association (NLHA) consists of New London Hospital (NLH), located in New London, New Hampshire (NH) and Newport Health Center, located in Newport, NH.
Founded in 1918, the New London Hospital is a not-for-profit Critical Access Hospital serving 15 communities within the Kearsarge/Lake Sunapee region in central New Hampshire providing primary care and specialized clinical services in a patient and family centered environment.
Newport Health Center
When Newport Hospital closed in 1991, New London Hospital and its Board of Trustees recognized the continuing need for primary care and additional services for the Newport community. To fill this need, NLH opened Newport Health Center (NHC).
Newport Health Center is a rural health center and offers primary care, pediatrics, gynecology, occupational health, laboratory, X-ray, mammography, and rehabilitative services.
NHC is focused on making care accessible and offers same-day appointments and evening hours to better serve patients. When needed, NHC patients can also receive care at New London Hospital and can access the breadth of resources and specialties available across our system. In addition, community programs such as the Tiger Treatment Center—New Hampshire's only school-based health center—expand NHC's reach to encompass a broad cross-section of community members, whether or not they receive primary care at NHC, further increasing the health and wellness of the region.
NHC prides itself on a uniquely close-knit, collaborative environment, which is strengthened by the fact that staff and providers live and work in the towns and neighborhoods they serve. The commitment to continually improve the wellbeing of individuals in the region by providing high-quality healthcare is evident.
Dartmouth Health
As a strategic partner and member of Dartmouth Health, NLH and NHC bring expert healthcare services directly to the community, allowing residents to receive high-level care close to home. The system collaboration with Dartmouth Health is further strengthened through a robust network of specialty providers, advanced medical technologies, and an integrated medical record system that support comprehensive care in both New London and Newport.
The Region
For more than two centuries, New Hampshire's Lake Sunapee and Sugar River Regions have been considered the ideal New England destination for travelers and locals.
With a fantastic mix of shops, services, restaurants and entertainment, the area offers a relaxed lifestyle and boasts a wide variety of activities during all four seasons. The streets and greens of these neighboring communities come alive during the summer months with festivals, farmers markets, concerts, fairs and parades.
Nearby lakes serve as the ideal playgrounds for water enthusiasts of all ages while local mountains, such as Mount Sunapee and Ragged Mountain satisfy the winter adventures with breathtaking views. Of course, the autumn months never disappoint the foliage seekers.
