Our client, is seeking a Business Analyst to join their team. As a Business Analyst, you will be responsible for capturing, analyzing, and documenting business and technical requirements, ensuring solutions meet organizational needs and compliance standards. This role serves as a bridge between business stakeholders, IT staff, and vendors to promote collaboration and deliver effective solutions. While the core function is business analysis, the BA II may also serve as a
project lead
, applying project management skills to plan, track, and deliver work in alignment with PMO standards. This is a Specialist role as a BA but will also engage as a Project Manager approx. 40% of the time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Elicit, document, and analyze business needs, functional specifications, and system requirements.
  • Develop and maintain standardized templates for consistent requirements gathering.
  • Ensure requirements align with organizational priorities, best practices, and regulatory standards.
  • Partner with technical and business teams to support solution design and implementation.

Testing & Quality Support

  • Work with the Testing Manager to define testing scope and methodologies (UAT, regression, integration, and unit testing).
  • Create reusable testing templates and guidelines in Zephyr for JIRA.
  • Support defect tracking, test execution, and alignment of testing activities with project timelines.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Serve as liaison between business units and IT teams to strengthen communication and trust.
  • Facilitate meetings, workshops, and discussions to clarify needs and priorities.
  • Provide tailored business process documentation and support to project teams.

Project Management

  • For smaller projects or initiatives, act as project lead by defining scope, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Develop and monitor work plans, schedules, and resource needs.
  • Track project risks, issues, and changes, escalating as appropriate.
  • Provide status updates, reports, and presentations to stakeholders and management.
  • Ensure smaller initiatives are delivered on time and in alignment with PMO practices.

Process Improvement & Governance

  • Identify opportunities to improve requirements gathering, testing, and delivery practices.
  • Ensure compliance with PMO governance, organizational policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Configure and manage JIRA projects, workflows, dashboards, and automation to support efficient delivery.

Qualifications
Education and Experience

  • Bachelor of Business Administration is preferred. Equivalent IT experience may also be acceptable.
  • 3-5 years of Business Analysis experience in an IT environment.
  • Experience leading or coordinating smaller IT projects or initiatives preferred.

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong business analysis skills, with demonstrated ability to gather and document requirements.
  • Working knowledge of project planning, scheduling, and coordination.
  • Experience with JIRA workflows, dashboards, reporting, and Zephyr for JIRA.
  • Familiarity with software development methodologies (Agile, Hybrid, Waterfall).
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to coordinate resources and vendors when acting as a project lead.

Preferred Skills

  • Knowledge of test automation frameworks and advanced testing practices.
  • Proficiency in API testing and integration techniques.
