DEKA Research and Development, housed in Manchester, NH, has an exciting opportunity for an Mechanical Engineering Intern to work with the Test Engineering Team in a dynamic R&D environment. In this role you will work alongside a group of passionate engineers to create innovative solutions that truly make a difference.

DEKA offers Co-Ops for full time students* (must be at least 18 years of age). This position is preferably for a 6+ month rotation for the Spring semester starting in January and ending in June/ July

How you will make an impact as an Mechanical Test Engineer Co-Op:

  • Work with a test engineering group testing medical products
  • Designing test fixtures and process equipment
  • Creating and executing test procedures and generating write-ups to summarize test method and results
  • CAD work including solid modeling and drawings
  • Support the test engineering group and accomplish tasks with minimal direction

Skills we are looking for in an Mechanical Test Engineer Co-Op:

  • Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate Mechanical Engineering program
  • Mechanical aptitude and hands on mechanical experience (working on cars, fixing bicycles or FIRST robotics a plus)
  • Solidworks (or other CAD program) experience
  • Experience with Rapid Prototyping
  • Experience with data acquisition and Python and/or MATLAB
  • Knowledge of thermodynamics and fluid mechanics
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be detail oriented
