As a Product Owner, you will play a critical role in the successful execution of the product vision set by the Product Manager. You will be responsible for managing the day-to-day execution of the product backlog, ensuring that the development team delivers features that meet business and customer needs. Working in close collaboration with Product Managers, Engineering Managers, and development teams, you will bridge the gap between strategic planning and technical execution, ensuring that products are delivered on time and within scope.
This role requires a deep understanding of Agile practices and an ability to translate the high-level strategic direction from Product Managers into actionable tasks for development teams.
What You'll Do
- Collaboration with Product Managers:
- Work closely with the Product Manager to understand the product vision, strategy, and roadmaps.
- Ensure alignment between the tactical execution (development) and strategic objectives defined by the Product Manager.
- Backlog Ownership:
- Own and maintain the product backlog, translating product requirements into well-defined user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Prioritize features and tasks in the backlog, ensuring alignment with the business goals set by the Product Manager.
- Refine and adjust the backlog based on feedback from stakeholders, customers, and the development team; including active participation in Customer Support Prioritization sessions.
- Agile Execution:
- Collaborate with the Engineering Managers to facilitate sprint planning, grooming, retrospectives, and daily stand-ups.
- Ensure that user stories are ready for development, with clear and concise acceptance criteria.
- Review completed work during sprint reviews and provide feedback to the team.
- Track progress throughout the sprint to ensure features are delivered on time and meet the quality standards.
- Stakeholder Communication:
- Serve as the main point of contact between development teams and stakeholders for daily operational questions.
- Communicate any challenges, risks, or blockers to the Product Manager, helping to ensure timely resolutions.
- Regularly gather feedback from stakeholders and users to refine requirements and improve the product.
- Product Launch Support:
- Work closely with Product Managers, marketing, and customer support teams to prepare for product launches.
- Assist enablement teams in the creation of user guides, release notes, and training materials.
- Customer-Centric Focus:
- Continuously gather customer insights utilizing Product Manager discovery initiatives to inform the prioritization of features and enhancements.
- Monitor and analyze user behavior, working with the Product Manager to ensure the product is delivering maximum value.
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's degree in business, computer science, engineering, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience as a Product Owner, Business Analyst, or a similar role within an Agile team.
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, including Scrum or Kanban.
- Proven experience working with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products.
- Ability to translate complex business needs into clear and actionable user stories.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with experience working closely with both business stakeholders and technical teams.
- Familiarity with product management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
- Experience in Human Resources Technology is a plus.
- Experience collaborating with strategic partners and other external stakeholders.
- Ability to thrive in a dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities and adapting to changing business needs.
