Position Summary:
We are seeking a motivated individual to join our firm as a Legal Assistant / Paralegal / Legal Secretary. This position is ideal for someone looking to gain experience in the legal field while performing a mix of administrative and paralegal duties in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct support to attorneys in litigation and administrative tasks.
- Draft, edit, and file pleadings, discovery, and correspondence.
- Maintain and organize electronic and physical case files.
- Schedule depositions, hearings, and other case events.
- Communicate professionally with clients, court personnel, and opposing counsel.
- Travel with attorneys throughout Alabama—driving firm vehicles so attorneys can work en route to court appearances. (All trips are day trips only.)
- Assist with other office duties as needed to support the firm's operations.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a legal secretary, paralegal, or legal assistant is preferred, but entry-level candidates with strong organizational and communication skills are encouraged to apply.
- Must have a valid driver's license and be comfortable driving long distances.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and PDF editing software.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask under deadlines.
