Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in automotive and heavy equipment repair, with a strong focus on diagnostics and maintenance. This role requires a solid understanding of mechanical systems, as well as the ability to work with various types of machinery including excavators, cranes, and farm equipment. The Mechanic will be responsible for ensuring that all vehicles and equipment are operating efficiently and safely.

Duties

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on vehicles and heavy equipment, including tractors, trailers, and farm machinery.
  • Diagnose mechanical issues using automotive diagnostics tools and schematics.
  • Conduct repairs on engines, transmissions, air brakes, hydraulics, suspension systems, and HVAC systems.
  • Utilize hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment for repairs and fabrication tasks.
  • Execute tire service, brake repair, alignment adjustments, shocks & struts replacements, and assembly tasks.
  • Operate heavy equipment safely while adhering to all safety protocols.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed and parts used for each job.
  • Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding their vehicle or equipment needs.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow in the shop.

Qualifications

  • Proven mechanic experience with a strong background in automotive repair and maintenance.
  • Dealership experience is preferred but not required.
  • Familiarity with heavy equipment operation including excavators and cranes is a plus.
  • Proficient in electrical systems troubleshooting and repair.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to read schematics effectively.
  • Experience with diesel engine repair is highly desirable.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects as needed during repairs (heavy lifting).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills along with attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills for effective customer interaction.
